Orchard Valley Coffee — May 29, 2009

This was a good show. Friends from work (James Lick High School), church (Mountain Bible Church) and friends in general came out to enjoy coffee, food and music. Here’s how the evening went…

1. Dirty Old Mug

First set:
2. I’ll Press On
3. Fortress
4. I For You
5. When We Were Young
6. I Was Writing This in the Cafe
7. We Never Said Goodbye
8. T.S. Eliot’s “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock” (arrangement)
9. Scarborough Fair (traditional, arrangement)
10. I Need You
11. Highways Heading Home

Second set:
12. I’ll Press On
13. Fortress
14. I For You
15. When We Were Young

I played the first few songs again, one, to fill out my set, and, two, to oblige those who came later in the evening. I had been working on a some other songs, but they weren’t ready for tonight. Among those are “Abe Lincoln,” which I played at an open mic once, “Old Man Jack,” which could have been ready, if I had driven myself, and “Long Day,” which would have been attached to “Love Song.”

A special thanks to Orchard Valley Coffee for having me. OVC offers great coffee and food, as well as free Wifi. Visit OrchardValleyCoffee.com. They are located at 349 East Campbell Avenue, in Campbell.
